The band "Hariçten Gazelciler" (the name of the band can be translated as "Musical Outsiders" in English)

had first come together in year 2001 in İzmit which is one of the gloomiest industrial town of Turkey.

They had locally become quite popular with their different way of singing and performing mostly

the covered version of Turkish old songs in various bar stages. However, after couple of years they

stopped doing this type of performance when they realized this cover repertoire was hindering to make

their own music. They have rested until one of the band members 'Omur Kilicaslan' invented a new and

exciting instrument called "çağlama" in year 2004. This new instrument "çağlama" had the ability to give

both the tones and nuances of authentic Turkish folk instrument "bağlama", but also had the strength of

an electric guitar sound. By the excitement of inventing this unique sound with this unique instrument they

have composed new songs and recorded their first album in year 2007. The band's debut album has been

named "Hariçten Gazelciler" and published by an independent record label Kadikoy Muzik.
